Groovin…
Now that Jack is walking we want to add a little video of him last week groovin.
An open letter to my son on his first birthday
Happy Birthday Buddy!
Good things come to those who wait
We have noticed a large increase in traffic lately and assume it is Jack’s many fans looking for Christmas and New Years updates. We know that we missed our first Tuesday post after 50 consecutive weeks, but with the holidays and all we decided to do a double post on January 5th that would cover Christmas, New Years and all the events leading up to the big birthday post that will follow shortly. So please know that all is well, and there will be a very large post going up tomorrow evening, chock full of great photos and stories of the little man’s first Christmas.
Until then ….
A brief side note
As the regular visitors of TWJ will notice, the look of the site has changed drastically today. Christmas is such a fun time of year, and we are looking forward to Jack’s first one so much, that I have decided to move into Xmas mode a little early. Not to worry, the old theme and Jack’s smiling face will return after the season has concluded (unless WP publishes a new one we like better).
November 10th, 2009 – Making up for last week / Halloween extravaganza
Well, life has been crazy and hectic lately, and we ended up a full week behind in getting Jack’s weekly photos added to his last blog post. To rectify this situation we are going to post a double-sized batch of photos here that should have been included in the last post. Halloween was fun, and we have lots of cuteness to share.

This concludes the make-up post, but stay tuned for this Tuesday’s new post to follow shortly from Mommy. Hopefully we will have photos up in a more timely fashion this week, and I have a surprise coming soon – New Videos!
The Public Option
Jack found something this morning that he wants to share with his friends and family.
It is an explanation of the public option that even he understands.
Jack is Tweeting
Jack has been hooked up with his very own Twitter account. You can follow him at http://twitter.com/TuesdayJack. We will use this feature to update everyone on his doings and such more often than the once weekly blog posts. These tweets will post up on the upper right hand corner of this website as well.
Also, Jack has directed me to begin using this site to generate some charitable contributions for The Nature Conservancy. He wants his planet to be healthy and happy when it comes to be his turn to take it for a spin. It costs no money, simply click on the SocialVibe panel on the right and viewing the advertising generates contributions from the company.
September 12th, 2009 – Finally!
Dad here.
Just wanted to share that after months of pawing at his face, acting grumpy, and 1 day shy of his 8 month birthday, when the little guy woke up this morning he had a shiny new tooth to show us. Lower left incisor, and the little sucker is sharp!
Dad of course rejoiced in this new milestone while Mom is a little less hesitant to celebrate anything that indicates that her baby is getting bigger. Of course, this gets harder and harder to do, as we just returned from Costco with size 4 diapers!
A picture of the new little nubby will get posted as soon as he cooperates with me in taking one
A brief intermission
Hello. Daddy here.
After Mommy’s last nostalgic post we have decided to cheer up our spirits with a collection of our favorite pictures from the last week. We have truly been blessed with cute Jack pictures this week and decided to post up some extras.
BTW – our family’s Picasa album is always being updated as well with the best of the best, and you can even order prints if you like! Check it out here

July 23rd, 2009 – Six Month Doctor Visit
Jack had his 6-month check-up and vaccinations this morning. The poor little guy was stuck three times and wasn’t very happy when we left, but he is growing like a weed and doing very well. He now weighs 21lb 13oz which places him in the 97th percentile for weight and he is 26.75 inches long placing him in the 70th percentile for length.

Happy Half-Birthday!!!
Tomorrow is Tuesday and I will let Mom handle the usual post, but I just wanted to wish you a very happy half-birthday today! Six months old today, seems like only yesterday we brought you home and you blurped all over my fleece.
We love you little guy!
Jack says “Hi”
Nothing brightens Daddy’s day like a call from the little man
A follow-up to yesterdays post
“Grumpy Jack” seems to have finally reached his limit as he slept a whopping 11.5 hours uninterrupted last night and scared his parent’s when they awoke this morning refreshed like never before.
This whole ordeal may have been worth it just for that one night of sleep.
On another note, Jack weighed in at 14 lbs 9 oz at the doctor yesterday. Here come size 2 diapers…..
Happy St. Patricks Day
The weekly update post is below that Mommy just finished, but Dad wanted to post up a cute photo of Jack in a green outfit wishing everyone a happy St. Paddys day – even if he looks a little sad and possibly abused

Luck O' the Irish to ya!
Two Month Doctor Visit
Jack had his 2 month pediatrician visit today. This was as hard on Mom and Dad as it was on little Jack as it ended with 3 injections in his little legs and has left him grumpy with a low grade fever.
He is now 22 1/4 inches long and weighs in at a whopping 13 lbs 10 oz. This puts him at the 90th percentile for weight and the 40th percentile for length – so he has some growing up to do now instead of just out
. At 16 1/4 inches around he now had a head that measures at the 75th percentile for brain size. This is good since it seems his head is now mis-shapen as he is developing a flat spot due to his insistence on only sleeping on one side of his head. We are working on neck stretches and other fun tricks the doctor showed us to try and get him to mix it up a bit.
He has also been officially diagnosed with eczema, which is all over his face at the moment. For more info click here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eczema
This is a chronic, lifelong skin disease that he inherited from one of us, though neither of us have it. It should not be a big deal and should get better as he gets older and move from his face to his hands, but right now we just lotion him up a lot and apply hydrocortisone twice a day. Hopefully he will be feeling a lot better very soon.
To help us keep track of the little man and his growth we have created the following graph that we will update and improve upon as we go along:

Friday the Thirteenth .. again
Today is Jack’s 2 month birthday, and it is Friday the thirteenth. Through a strange twist of fate, his one month birthday was also on Friday the 13th. He doesn’t know enough to be superstitious yet, but you can’t tell from this mornings cell phone picture.

Happy birthday buddy
Morning Smiles
Well, Dad finally caved and got a cell phone. The bright side to this is that I get to shoot grainy pictures on the fly and upload them to the blog.
The usual routine is that Jack starts grumping about the same time Dad is eating breakfast and getting ready to head out the door. This means that I get the pleasure of unwrapping him each morning from his swaddle and watching him stretch and smile and greet the day. I turn on his mobile which plays Bach (his favorite by the way, chosen over the Beethoven and Mozart selections it offers) and he quietly watches it spin about for 10 – 15 minutes while he continues to stretch and vocalize and get increasingly excited for breakfast until he is waving both arms in circles and kicking both legs so rhythmically that he begins to creep down the papasan chair he prefers (demands) to sleep in.
On days that Dad is running ahead of schedule when this begins I get to give him his first bottle of the day. On days that time is short then Mom gets that pleasure. Either way, he begins each day happy and so do we.
This was this morning’s stretchy smile.

Good morning bright-eyes
New Domain
We have upgraded the domain for Jack’s blog so you no longer need to enter the “wordpress” part of the url. We are now at:
http://tuesdayswithjack.com
And here is Daddy’s favorite photo of the two of us:

New Feature – Guestbook
The idea behind this blog is that it will eventually be a gift for Jack when he is old enough to appreciate it, so I know he would love having his friends and family participate and leave their mark on this gift. We intend to keep this going for many years, until he is old enough and interested enough to take it over himself. Ongoing commentary and messages to him on the important dates in his life will be very special for him one day and so we wanted to encourage the like by creating a special place just for that.
Therefore, Jack’s little blog now has a guestbook. It can be accessed from the tabs at the top of the page next to his “Additional Photos” tab. That is another section that we will be slowly filling up with the great pictures that don’t make the cut to a weekly blog post, but are still special enough to be shared.
